A confession...

Hi - it’s Lillian here again.

I must confess! I don’t have a regular newsletter queued up for today…

My excuse: My dad had a stroke last Monday and I had to fly to Orlando, from my home in Thailand, in order to do anything I can to support his recovery. They had him in hospice when I left home, but praise God, he is out of that, he is alive and he is getting better. I’ll spare you the details of the last 6 days — but, they’ve been nothing short of horrific.

I wanted to somehow package this personal experience into some important business lesson that I could share with you here (you know, like the “influencers” do on LinkedIn?)

But right now, things still aren’t making sense in the way they should.

To get here and make myself available to support my family, I had to put all my projects on hold and cancel plans to work with some REALLY amazing new clients. I also left my young family on the other side of the planet.

It’s been nothing less than pure anguish, but this is what decency demands.

Soooo, I’m struggling. I don’t know when things will get better. I get a glimmer of hope, then someone else shows up with some new piece of news that I need to deal with.

The important thing here is this: Sometimes one needs to make big sacrifices to do what they know is right. Sometimes life forces us to take big, bold stands in order to fight for what we believe in. And it’s the conviction to act on such matters that differentiate the boys from the men, as they say. So, we can think of such situations as opportunities, rather than setbacks - no matter what the final outcome may be.

Sometimes people think that I always have it all together… in reality, I am human too! Things aren’t easy now, but they’re improving slowly. And, mostly importantly - we should be able to get back to our regular newsletter updates by the end of next week.
